| My diary has been my friend and my confidante for the last 27 years. I've poured out my heart in it when I've been both joyous and distraught, I've vented my spleen at other people in it, I've recorded births, marriages, deaths and holidays, I've written letters never meant to be sent, kept lists, pasted postcards and mementoes, and so many times I've just read back over all the volumes that I've kept and been able to say "this is my story - both it and I am unique".
Share with me the deep satisfaction of keeping a journal. I'll talk about all sorts of journaling here - from keeping simple repositories of ephemera to the use of a journal to help you find your way through seemingly insurmountable problems. We'll take a look at some wonderful illustrated journals, created by travellers, wildlife observers & other artists who seek to extend their recording beyond the written word, and you will be able to keep company with Diarists from the past with whom you can share the minutiae of their daily lives.
