My Darling John & Jimmy
Thank you very much for your dear letters and also for sending John's tooth. How well I remember his first tooth coming through! It was on board ship coming out to India and what a lot of trouble it did give! My John used to make me walk up and down with him nearly the whole night sometimes!
I am glad that you enjoyed Poole's Myriorama so much. We never have nice things like that out here to go and see, but Evelyn and Betty will enjoy them all the more when they come home.
It was Daddy's birthday yesterday - we had a nice cake with pink and white icing and our two boys' photos on the table, as we always do when it's a birthday tea.
I have been going for some nice rides with Daddy lately - The Archdeacon of Lahore has left his pony with us while he goes home to England. It is black and very nice to ride and seems so proud of carrying a lady!
My garden is looking so pretty. it is full of crysanthemums - the sweet peas, pansies, wallflowers and castor oil plants (!!!) are all coming up nicely - but some insect has eaten all the tops of the creepers I put down to cover a screen we made to cover the servants godowns - isn't it sad??
God bless you my sons and with much fond love and many kisses from us all.
I am ever your loving Mummy
